HUNGARIAN JOURNAL OF LEGAL STUDIES
ACTA JURIDICA HUNGARICA
The journal, Acta Juridica, was founded in 1959 by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences with the intention of acquainting foreign readers with the research results of Hungarian legal sciences. Until 1989, the papers, essays, and book reviews were published in four languages, namely in English, French, German, and Russian. In 1990, the title has been changed to Acta Juridica Hungarica – Hungarian Journal of Legal Studies, and from this time on, its language is exclusively English. Until 2013, the Journal belonged to the Section of Economics and Law of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. As of 1 January 2014, it is under the aegis of the Centre of Social Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The Journal considers its essential function to present the results of high quality legal research done by domestic and foreign scholars and tries to inform the academic and scholarly community about the recent developments of the Hungarian and foreign legislation and legal literature.
The Journal publishes only original research papers, review articles, book reviews, and announcements in the field of legal sciences. Papers are accepted on the understanding that they have not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
All articles will be subjected to a double-blind peer review process and English editorial review. A copy of the Publishing Agreement will be sent to authors of papers accepted for publication.
The typical length of manuscripts is around one author’s sheet (cca. 40,000 character including spaces and footnotes).
The Publisher provides open access to all articles after an embargo period of two years.
Editor-in-chief : Prof. Éva Jakab; Editors: Miklós Könczöl and Viktor Lőrincz
